Long Overdue

Hi my lovelies…

So I’M BACK.. My last blog was way back in November 2014.. I took some time away from blogging and have to say I have missed the blogging community!

So over the last few months I have gone through highs and lows and though some of you may want to know what exactly, however I wish to keep some of it private and appreciate your understanding.. I have had a lot of time to myself and with my family as we have recently seen the passing of a loved one 😔.. From family to friends have all given so much love and support in such a difficult time. We are doing so much better because of everyone’s support..

Onto a much lighter note, the wedding that I attended of my cousin’s in November was amazing and we had a new member join our family, my Bhabhi (sister in law).. My cousin and Bhabhi also are expecting their first child who is due any day now.. I’m looking forward to the new bambino 😊..

I also travelled to New York in January for my 25th B-day (I know I’m now part of club 25) and India in March for two Big Fat Indian Weddings lol..
Job Life

I’m still working as a Paralegal in the same office however with a chance of a Training Contract in the New Year..

I cut my hair short… It’s just below my shoulders.. From previous posts you’ll see that I had long hair and felt the need to switch it up a bit..

I just wanted to share an update and will post very soon.. Thank you for reading..

Wedding, Beauty & Fashion Haul

Hey Dollfaces!

I just need to say.. I cannot believe we are nearing Christmas, yes I said it! The C word has been dropped!!

The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy for me, my sister visited from Canada along with other family members who travelled from USA, Canada and India to attend my cousin’s Big Fat Indian Wedding (it really was)…

Few months ago I posted about Indian Outfits and mentioned that I was in talks with my designer to make my outfits for this Wedding… So here are a few snaps of my Indian Attire!!

IMG_8581.JPG

IMG_8590.JPG

I also purchased NEW shoes for the wedding from Miss KG… they are multi coloured pointy strap heels. Very comfy indeed!

Impulse buy: Quilted Skirt by H&M for £19.99.. I love the detail on this skirt.

I also purchased few items from Missguided
Pink Blouse
Black Layered Blouse
Tartan Beige Scarf

Beauty Haul

Since my sister is living in Canada, I asked her to get me some Sonia Kashuk makeup, for those that are unaware of this makeup brand, get to know :)… Basically she is an American based make up artist.. who along on the way has designed her own beauty line creating luxury products at affordable prices! The brand is luxurious meets chic.

I asked her to buy me the bronzer, concealer palette and highlighter stick.. 100% best products I’ve used!! Literally luscious on the skin for just a small price!

IMG_8814.JPG

Recent purchases…
Sleek Matte Lipstick in Brink Pink and Party Pink I have to say these are AMAZINGGGG, cheap and longwearing! I wore both these colours over the wedding weekend and I did not reapply.. I found that the Party Pink is a close colour swatch to MAC’s Relentlessly Red which is also Matte.
Sleek Matte Lipstick in Heartbreaker
another pink shade, it’s more of a neon bright pink!! Such a pretty colour, great to wear with a winged liner nude eye! Perfect.

MAC lipstick in Honeylove, my sister bought me this.. it’s another great lipstick to add to my nudes collection! This is a cross between Velvet Teddy and Kinda Sexy, the latter being my ultimate go to lipstick, I wear day and night.

I also purchased a MAC lip liner in Dynamo, it’s a lovely pink shade. I usually fill in the whole of my lips rather than just line the lips. The picture doesn’t do the colour justice, it’s such a pretty shade of pink! And it really is long lasting.. As I write this.. It’s not budging from my hand! Lol.

IMG_8812.JPG

Coastal Scents 88 Pallette, I bought this from eBay.. I haven’t used this product.. I swatched a couple colours and found it’s not heavily pigmented however the more you apply the more colour shows.. However a great buy for amazing colours!

Maybelline Instant a Anti-Age eraser concealer, this has been raved about by many beauty gurus, and since its for concealing the undereye I thought this product is aimed at me.. and plus I tend to use different types of concelaers and brands for my under eye dark circles. a great 8/10… I’m just not a fan of the applicator brush other than that its a great coverage.

Loreal voluminous mascara, this in itself is a must beauty cult in my opinion! It does what it says! My lashes are long as it is but this makes my eyes pop out even more.. A cheap way to look like you have thick and long lashes rather than wearing lash extensions.

Cocoa Brown Tan Lovely Legs, this product was sent to me by Cocoa Brown.. I was very excited to receive this product, even though I don’t need to tan its always great to try different products especially to get the golden tanned look.. who doesn’t love a bit of dewy gold finish?! I will do a separate post about this product on how to use!

What have been your favourite buys recently?

Organic Beauty Week

Last week in the UK it was Organic Beauty week (8th sept-14th sept).. Celebrating what nature has intended for us all…organic beauty products!

I’m not very strict when it comes to greener and ethical ways of life however I do what I can, and when it comes to Beauty, I research a lot into organic beauty products and websites, especially when it comes to knowing what I use on my skin, since it’s dry!

In celebration of Organic Beauty Week.. What’s better than a limited edition organic Glossybox?!! Glossybox teamed up with the Soil Association and amazing organic beauty brands that will be kinder to you!

IMG_8094-1.JPG

IMG_8095-1.JPG

What’s in my Glossybox?

IMG_8096-0.JPG

1. Pai SkincareGentle Hydrating Cleanser Price £25.00 for 100 ml (comes with organic muslin cloth)
2. Odylique- Timeless Rose Moisturiser Price £21.00 for 50ml
3. Bamford- Body Wash Price £22.00 for 250ml
4. Neal’s Yard Remedies- Organic Lip Gloss Price £9.50 for 15ml
5. Essential Care- Gentle Herb Shampoo Price £11.00 for 200ml

My Top fave products from the Organic Glossybox:
1. Pai Skincare Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, since I have dry skin this is a perfect cleanser for your face and you can also use it as an eye makeup remover… Using the muslin cloth will leave your skin feeling clean and soft.
2. Odylique Moisturiser… In my previous blogs I’ve been looking for a moisturiser that is well suited for my skin type and I’ve got to say this has been nice for my skin, it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily.
3. Bamford body wash is nice and refreshing, the peppermint ingredient wakes you up lol. Overall great for your body and mind.

I’ve yet to use Neal’s Yard lip gloss and I did try Essential Care Herb shampoo, it wasn’t lathering enough on the hair and you would need a good amount to massage into the hair. With the product I only got one wash so cannot comment on the progress of how it is on my hair.

Few of my fave Organic beauty sites:
1. Naturisimo
2. Pai Skincare
3. Caudalie– their day and night cream are amazing! As well as their night face oil.
4.Essential Care

Did anyone else purchase the limited edition Glossybox? Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you for reading!

The time I had a Deep Tissue Massage 🙌

Lately I’ve been stressed out with work.. So I went and booked myself in for a Deep Tissue Massage.. It was for 45 mins and the beauty therapist concentrated on my upper body, especially my neck and shoulders.. It was a lot of elbow and hand pressure feeling… Overall was very relaxing and almost an uncomfortable but good feeling, if that makes sense… Great way to release muscle tension and aches.. Though I feel a bit sore however this is normal to feel after a deep tissue massage! It’s not a good idea to have it done regularly since the time and pressure applied can be potentially unsafe for the body.

I went to Sassy Lashes in Essex!!! Great price of £25… The beauty therapist was very welcoming and friendly, overall the salon is friendly.. I usually get intimidated by beauty salons and therapists however I was made to feel at ease!! Will be visiting there very soon for an Eve Taylor Facial! My favourite!

Always remember to take time out and relax whether it’s by a massage, yoga, quiet time, reading.. Whatever it is that helps you to unwind from the day, week.

Goodnight

Honour: Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award

sister hood blogYaayy!! So I am totally honoured and gratetful for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award nomination, and would love to thank the beautiful Kelly from Chicgeek123, check her blog post. I’ve been blogging for nearly 6 months now and have made some great blogger friends, this is my first nomination for a blogging award and am really happy :)… so thank you Kelly..x

1. What made you decide to start blogging?

Such a cliché, I’ve always followed bloggers and beauty youtube gurus and always thought I want to blog, however I didn’t just want to blog about makeup, so I decided rather than keep it to a niche blogging market, I wanted to blog about anything and everything that I like and affects me.. so I’ve studied law and makeup, I’m currently working as a paralegal in a Solicitor’s firm. So that’s how I came up with my blog name and I’m a big fan of lipsticks! At the moment its an ‘all over it’ blog but I may change it in the future!

2. Who are your biggest beauty inspirations?

Irene Sarah this doll needs no introduction, she’s simply amazing and inspirational!

3. What is your favorite makeup brand (High-end and Drugstore)?

High end- NARS

Drugstore- Sleek

4. What is the one makeup product you can’t live without?

I always always always talk about how I have dark under eye’s so my GO-TO makeup product is concealer, either Sleek or my new FAVE NYX HD concealer, my review here.

5. If you could only apply 3 products to your face, what would they be?

I use probably 3 or less products to my face… I use Sleek Concealer and Bourjois eyeliner and MAC kinda sexy lipstick.

6. Favorite makeup trend?

CONTOURING! Thank you Kim K.. simply the best and cheap way to look like you’ve had surgery!

7. Makeup trend you wish would go away?

Unusual coloured lipsticks! lol

8. Favorite place to buy makeup?

Hmm… Canada.. Though I’m from the UK… I have family who live in British Columbia and whenever I visit, it’s always a huge makeup haul! They have the best makeup brands and stores, as do the US! I tend to go MAC and Sephora!

9. Biggest makeup regret?

Foundations!! For those who read my blogs will be aware that I rarely wear foundation and instead I like to wear the Body Shop BB cream… It’s not to say that I don’t own any foundations, but I do… however few months ago I bought the Benefit flawless foundation priced at £26.50 (pricey)… USED ONLY TWICE! Though its great coverage, I’m just that someone who has it in my makeup bag but doesn’t wear it, but then again I won’t give it away lol!

10. Favorite part of wearing makeup?

On the LIPS.. you can create whatever shape or look you want, with or without lip liner!

Beauty Swap ?

Just a short and simple blog post…

IMG_8025-0.JPG
Photo:by me

What exactly is a Beauty Swap and how an you trust that you will receive your beauty products from the other blogger?

So I have been researching into beauty swap, and it seems like a good way to get brands of makeup products from other countries that are not available in your home country.

My concern would be whether I would receive my beauty swap?

However it’s something that I would be interested in doing.. Please could you shower me with advice and guidance into the beauty swap!!

Much appreciated

H.xo

Skincare Routine

Firstly, I am of indian origin, so my skin is tanned/olive. Skin type is dry to normal… I have a slight patch of dry skin on my cheekbones!

My Routine
I’ve recently been using Dermalogica daily microfoliant it’s a powder base micro-foliate, using a tiny drops of water to the powder creating paste. Using circular motions on your face and then rinsing with warm water.

IMG_7968-0.JPG

Toner
After I cleanse my skin, I use the Pixi Glow Tonic which I bought in April, click here to read up on my previous beauty and fashion haul post!

It’s been about 4 months since I’ve been using this toner, and it’s lasted me, I’ve not even used half of the bottle. I use it in the morning and at night. It leaves the skin feeling radiant and clean! My dry skin has reduced, leaving my complexion free of impurities.

IMG_7967.JPG

Moisturiser
For everyday moisturiser I use the Dr Organics, coconut oil day cream .. I’ve not yet found a great moisturise for my skin type, this cream is a thick consistency and I found when I’m massaging it into my skin, it doesn’t soak in as well as I would like it to… Any recommendations for moisturisers that are great for dry skin?!

Further purchases
To replace skin care products that are my fave:
1. The Body Shop Camomile a Silky Cleansing Oil, click here this is my absolute go to cleansing oil, it feels amazing on my skin, leaving it feeling silky and soft.
2. Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil by Bodhi it’s on a special offer at Naturisimo for £28.00 RRP £38.00 for 15 ml. This face oil is perfect to use in the morning or at night, I prefer to use it at night.. The first time I used it at night, the next morning my skin was polished and gave a refined texture in the skin… It’s pricey but defiantly worth it in my opinion!!
3. I’m looking into trying a night cream/oil that conceals dark circles and tightens the eye area skin… Any suggestions welcome!?.. I will look at The Body Shop!
4. So I’m somebody who likes to try something new and I’ve just seen hollywood’s cult product Glamglow face mask… It’s quite expensive and retails at £49.99, however there’s an amazing offer on Allbeauty which are selling around £34. It’s still expensive however with the % off, I feel happy and will purchase! It’s a product that has great reviews! I must try!! 🙏

Thank you for reading!
